MobCraft Beer and National DIY Skatepark Inc. collaborate on La Nacional Mexican-style Lager.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 16, 2024

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – MobCraft beer is partnering with nonprofit National DIY Skatepark Inc. to release a collaborative beer release to support the National DIY skateboarding park located under I-43 at National Avenue. The beer released, named La Nacional Lager, is refreshing Mexican-style Lager coming in at 5% ABV. The beer will be available on draft at bars and establishments across the Walker’s Point neighborhood in Milwaukee starting Labor Day weekend.

One dollar of every pint poured of La Nacional Mexican-style Lager will go directly towards National DIY Skatepark to help with building and maintaining the park, insurance costs and other creative initiatives to support skating and youth programming.

The collaborative partnership took shape when Dylan Shanahan, Co-Founder of National DIY Skatepark Inc, and Henry Schwartz, owner of Mobcraft Beer, met at a monthly Walker’s Point Association get together. The conversation quickly turned to skateboarding as both individuals were avid skaters and Dylan was excited to learn that Henry is a frequent visitor of the neighborhood skatepark. The two immediately hit off and a proposed fundraising partnership between the two organizations clicked.

“When Dylan and I talked about this beer I was jacked!  I grew up on the old skateboard and even owned a skateboard shop back in the day. I was so excited to be able to make a beer in support of the mystical little skate park being constructed under the overpass conveniently located on my drive to work every day.” says Henry Schwartz.

Dylan Shananhan adds, “I have been skateboarding my whole life! The National DIY Skatepark is a great place for people of all ages to skate and hang out. It provides both a recreational and creative outlet for the skateboarding community of Walker’s Point and Milwaukee. The skatepark has been an amazing movement between skaters, artists and builders and the community has given us so much support!”

La Nacional Mexican-style Lager will be pouring on draft starting Labor Day weekend, including: Zócalo Food Park, Cactus Club, Blackbird Bar, Sabbatic, The Laughing Tap, Odd Duck, Fuel Cafe, Giving Tree Garage, Stenny’s Tavern and Grill, The Iron Horse, MobCraft Beer and more to come.
